Terrence “Bud” Crawford vs Gary “Mr.” Russell Jr. @ 144

This is a fight with a deep history to it from all the way back to the amateurs and Olympic trials!

    There’s bad blood already!

Both men have trouble with making the fights they really want so why not make it happen?

Bud is a counter puncher by nature but at heart is a fighter who can switch hit and is versatile and intelligent with a killer instinct!

Russell Jr. is a counter puncher by skill but at heart is a boxer who fights at mid range an on the inside so versatile as well!

This fight would be 8 rounds at the listed weight of 144!

Russell Jr trying to be Henry Armstrong and I'm all for it if that is what he wants

It is crazy because Henry Armstrong at the same height and weight as Gary Russell ironically enough went from Featherweight to as high as Middleweight winning Championships in each of those Divisions. Then of course you have another more current Legend in Pacquiao who Jumped from 135 to 145 for the Oscar Fight

It is not happening, Arum already shot the Idea down so moving on!

would probably be fun for a bit...like brook/golovkin was till brook finally got clipped...i called brook/golovkin a farce and id have say the same about this no matter how you wanna break it down and try to make it interesting

russell isnt a big enough of a name or a payday...he doesnt bring UK crowd or money the way brook did...its a lose/lose for crawford...its a tough fight people will talk bad about him...he wins people will say "so what he beat up a 126lb fighter".....its really that simple imo

Its sounds a great jump dont it all those divisions, what is Russells and TCs fight night weight that is what really matters and is the only real weight, with Manny he was inside 4-5 pounds fight night all the way from 135 to 150, so he didnt really jump up much at all for real, but jumped up lots on our paper label system.

Fans love adding up divisions like these guys moved 50lbs, not trying to take anything away as 4-5 pounds is a lot with the top guys just keeping real.

till Crawford fights one of the live dogs at 147, nobody should mention his name in P4P again!

GRJ's getting stopped if that happens. There's zero reason for bud to be fighting GRJ, he's got a legacy to carve out and it can't be done fighting Russell over 8 so I wanna see him concentrate on trying to unify the division

I think Crawford wins by early and easy KO. The welterweight champ against the featherweight champ is a bad mismatch unless the featherweight champ is Henry Armstrong and Russell is not remotely in Armstrong's class.
