Comments Thread For: Whyte Adds Coldwell To Corner For Povetkin Fight

Dillian Whyte has added Dave Coldwell to his corner team ahead of his crucial Heavyweight clash with Alexander Povetkin at Matchroom Fight Camp this weekend. Trainer Xavier Miller has overseen Whyte's preparations for Saturday's showdown with Povetkin, shown live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN in the US, with Katie Taylor-Delfine Persoon 2 on the same bill.

Well well well..... A sign of panic maybe? His new trainer's a complete novice and now Whyte has everything on the line, he must be worried. I do like Whyte but he went life and death with Chisora twice before finally landing the big left. Let's have it right, Chisora is a domestic level average heavyweight. It makes me wonder if he's really any good. I think Povetkin will finish Whyte in 7.

Amazing he's fighting Povetkin when he's a mandatory but he may well pay for this.

If he can't easily beat a 41 year old povetkin he has no business pretending to be a top 10 heavy weight.

I used to play football with Dave up until about a year ago when he packed in.. Did a lot of work with Bellew. He's not a huge player (in both senses) but he knows his stuff...

I don't think Whyte would have problems anyways but Dave will be good and calming for him..

Povetkin is now a shadow of the fighter he was 3 years ago this would have been an absolute barnstormer now it will be a onesided beating as long as Whyte is in any sort of shape. Povetkin's last hurrah was the Joshua fight since then its clear he is washed up and going through the motions for the retirement fund.
Whyte will dominate him and either stop him in 6-8 rounds or Povetkin's corner will pull him out for his own safety.

              Povetkin’s 40, rather than 41.

Whyte is ranked number 3 by Ring magazine after Fury and Joshua. So he doesn’t have to pretend anything.

I’m looking forward to the fight because I think it’ll be a good fight and I enjoy good fights. No doubt you are looking forward to it in the hope that Whyte gets knocked out by someone who you can the discredit as being old etc. Etc.

We will all have the answer by next week.

He's not pretending anything at all, his record speaks for itself.

                  What record?

Beat Parker via foul head butt. Flattened by AJ.

Never fought any other genuine top 10.

Gone life and death with every c grade contender he's fought. Even when on dianabol, wearing illegal gloves.

Pretty much this, we can all hope and pray for Povetkin to land that left hook though..
