This all depends on the board for GBP vs Matchroom. Hearn has got a lot of pull... and lots of briefcases to be given under the table. Hearn has been blocking fights for GBP (for Canelo) with DAZN's conflict of interest to Matchroom. What makes you think Hearn doesn't have more pull to have the WBC Diamond face Yildirim? That at least gives Haymon a run for the money since Yildirim is PBC. Should Smith beat Yildirim, Matchroom holds the WBC, WBA, WBO 168 belts. The question is, is that valuable to DAZN UK? Quite possibly so!

Would be great if Canelo gets it, but Matchroom are some solid players in the game. Don't be surprised if they win the ruling over GBP. Hearn knows Smith's value elevates should he hold the WBC, making negotiations another reset with GBP

I don't recall Hearn EVER winning in any of his so called power plays, I doubt it will be Hearn coming out top in this scenario.

Haney was scheduled to fight an eliminator with Campbell, and somehow Bob got the wbc to jump Loma over Haney, not only that but give Loma franchise status so that he doesn't have to defend against Haney, all under Hearn's nose.


He tried to steal the Charlos from PBC and failed.

He screwed up the Joshua vs Wilder situation and now Joshua is sitting on the sidelines looking in.

He couldn't get Amir Khan and Brook to fight despite them being signed under him at one point.

He signed Andrade to DAZN but Andrade hasn't been able to get any of the top Middleweights despite most of them being on DAZN.

Hearn is too incompetent.

Too many sharks at light heavy. That's why guys like Benavidez and Smith choose to squeeze down to 168. I sense the shady WBC will let Canelo fight Yildrim for its belt -- that was the whole purpose of stripping Benavidez in the first place. But I hear Jermall wants the WBC belt at 168 soon, so expect the scamsters in Mexico City to create a bogus "franchise" designation to protect Canelo from any legit challengers after he mashes Yildrim.

The WBC did not "strip" Benavides of his title. He did it to himself by not making weight. This is not the first time a champion lost his title on the scale, nor will it be the last.
