Mmmm. Fair enough, ATG can only be measured relative to a fighters contemporaries and both Ann and Lucia were exceptional compared to their peers, but it's also considered that greatness is also a measure of who you beat and as a simple function of the increasing participation in the women's sport Cecilia just has both more accomplished names and more fights. I wouldn't have any problem considering both Lucia and Ann early greats of the women's sport. Really too early to say how their accomplishments will be weighed 20 years from now, but to my mind Cecilia fought at a time of increasing depth and - as you say has the longevity.

I sincerely hope the growth in the women's sport continures though and maybe we'll see a time when Breakhus' reign as WW queen will be eclipsed due to increasing participation and quality... though it'd be nice to think she'll always be regarded as one of the first true greats. As Cecilia herself says the women's sport is in the best shape it's ever been.

Women's boxing is a very shallow pool with very little actual talent. Having abs and being able to put on a pair of boxing gloves does not make you skilled at it. To be honest, the women like Taylor, Braekhus and Shields make me realize just how good Rijker, Wolfe and Ali actually were. They'd feast on the women now. Hell, even the Coal Miner's Daughter would beat most of the women fighting today.

Actually no we need Braekhus always forever. There is no women's boxing without her one of the pioneers. The GWOAT the 1st lady!
