I mean would have Valdez gotten his jaw broken if Quigg made the scale?

Fans needs to realize that decisions relate to their outlook for next day rejuvenation. Most boxers go through hell to make the weight. It’s rather easy to cop out and make an excuse.

Truth is Benavidez and team could’ve warned Haymon about the situation. So PBC made a decision. It’s QUITE POSSIBLE that had David made 168 that Angulo would’ve have a better night. I just don’t understand all the celebration or ****y attitude from Benavidez whom had the luxury of 3lbs of water...

You can’t sell Angulo had he won a title.

I believe if David had dropped the 3 lbs he likely doesn’t perform anywhere near as well.

The weight loss would give Angulo has a better chance of winning, but I still think David wins.

Sulaiman doesn’t mind hearing Haymon’s strategies as long as the WBC profits justifiably and a Mexican is presented. Since Benavidez wasn’t making a lucrative paycheck for this fight and was worried about performance -as well as being advised (through Haymon) that he can schedule another title opportunity - then Benavidez didn’t mind missing weight just to perform better. All Benavidez had to do was beat Angulo, and to that, give up the weight.

Yildirim will see life changing money when he’ll be advised to accept another Benavidez title shot. As long as Haymon can strategize the WBC at 168 - like unification for Plant that doesn’t include Benavidez for the time being, then it means he can build Benavidez’s return fight for two belts against Plant. Assuming Plant beats Yildirim.

Three pounds is a very large miss. It is not like a boxer being unable to get off that last pound in time. He must have known the day before the weigh in that he would not make weight. Some guys keep growing a bit heavier naturally at 23. Maybe he is more of a light heavyweight now.

He use to weigh 200 pounds at 15 if you look at him in his teen years he looked like Andy Ruiz.He will eventually be a heavyweight like James Toney who had to kill himself to make weight until he said F it Im going to fight at my fat natural weight
