he lost the Vargas fight. I scored it again a few days ago actually and gave it to Vargas 115-113. Wright would trade power punches with Vargas and act like he won the rounds sometimes, which is just laughable. If they are trading power shots, no way is Wright winning the round because Vargas hits so much harder. I gave Wright rounds 2 & 3 (which both easily could have gone to Vargas), round 7 (based on one left hand landed by Winky in a round he otherwise lost), round 8 (where he clearly outboxed Vargas, the only clear round Wright won all night), 9 and 11 (another close round)

Vargas clearly won round 1, 4, 5, 7, 10, and 12 and 6 was close so as you can see I gave Wright every close round but one and still had him losing. No way he deserved to win that fight.

no, it was close and Vargas' facial expressions told that, but boxing is scored on a round by round basis, and Vargas won most rounds with power punching

You're right. He's a different sort of fighter. He is not like alot of the african american fighters (I'm generalizing here) where alot of them use physical gifts such as power, strength and speed to win fights. What he does use is a great jab, superior timing and he always punches first. I like his style in all of his fights because he comes forward and he's aggressive. He doesn't use lateral movement like most defensive specialists and he is good enough to simply stand there and parry.

it might just be just me but i think winky is a very borin fighter,hes good,very good,but hes got no aspect that stands out 2 fans or media atall,hes done good 2 get so far,but i dont know why hes popular coz hes done nothin big or shown no illuminous factor in his skill 2 stand out,or is it jus me?

I don't think he's boring. I guess it depends what you're looking for, but he fights with grace and style in my opinion. If excitement is just a big punch then he doesn't have that, but there is more tyo boxing. Apart from DLH Winky is my favortie fighter to watch.
