    Pacquiao/Marquez/Bradley were never true welterweights

Pacquiao, Bradley, Marquez were /are all too small for 147.

Pacquiao is obviously the best of them, that is why he had some success at that weight. Still, he needed a catchweight at 144 to beat Cotto. Pacquiao`s best true welterweight wins are Thurman and Clottey.

Bradley only beat Marquez, got gifted decision fighting Pacquiao. He also beat a gatekeeper Vargas.

Marquez stopped Pacquiao badly, gave him some other good fights, but he lost all rounds against true welterweight Mayweather.

Absolute nonsense. Pacquiao was weighing mid 140s on fight night when he was at 130. He's spent over 11 years at WW and no more than a few at other weights. He's a WW.

Yeah but most welterweights today rehydrate to high 150s or even mid 160s. He walks around at like 150. Can’t think of another WW today that does that

It's a "number of fights at that weight division" vs "how much you rehydrate over 147" argument.

Some people would argue that Pac is a "true" welterweight because he had many fights at that weight class.

Other people would argue that he's not a "true" welterweight because he never rehydrated much higher than the weight limit by the night of the fight--which is unlike other welterweights who weigh much higher than 147 on fight night unless there is a rehydration clause.

If so, why he fought Cotto at 144?
