  • Comments Thread For: WBC Provides Update On Heavyweight Mandatory Challenger Status

The stakes have been raised for Dillian Whyte's next fight along with the reassurance at a long-desired title shot should he emerge victorious. Unfortunately, it will also result in yet another delay in an already lengthy wait for his first shot at the heavyweight crown. A ruling was made during the 58th annual World Boxing Council (WBC) Convention which ensures Whyte's place in line as the mandatory challenger to the title. However, the promise made at the convention one year ago is no longer in place. Instead, he will have to wait for the fight to be ordered shortly after the third clash between WBC and lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and former titlist Deontay Wilder.

With the pandemic going on at the moment, you cannot blame anyone. The WBC still carries the overall blame for protecting Wilder up to the point that it compromises their own mandates. The next issue would be Team Fury saying that aren’t waiting for Wilder. So if Fury isn’t fighting Wilder next why can’t he fight is mandatory if he keeps that belt?

Everyone is complaining about the WBC as if Dillian Whyte was never accepting step aside money. All he had to do was say NO and simply get his shot. Simple. I don't know why people feel sorry for him.

Why Dillian Whyte can't fight Usyk to go the WBO route so he can have more options? It's funny how his promoter can give Luke Campbell 2 titleshots but he can't get Whyte one! Whyte shouldn't be fighting rated number 9 WBC fight the number 4 or 5 guy. Povetktin should be fighting someone like Chisora. Whyte always talk about Ortiz being old but you fighting a 41 year old Povetkin.

Here's a simple question to all Fury fans. Why would you not want to see Fury vs Whyte? It's a good fight, belt or no belt. Is it because you are afraid that your idol will lose? Is it because Fury only has 2 good names on his resume and you know he's a fraud, like Wilder was? Is it because you know he will lose if he isnt on the juice? What is it?

Usyk is Joshuas WBO mandatory which is the ace being it’s the huge money fight with no worries raking in the guaranteed cash because of AJ so why would Usyk fight Whyte as a highest ranked WBC guy ,Whyte would have no interest in a Usyk fight either ? If Whyte wanted the WBO route he left it when he turned down the 2 fight Joshua deal that was offered which turned into Ruiz .

Povetkin would be Wilders best win and Furys 3rd even if you guys pretend he’s not a top fighter .

The undisputed fight could happen in between a Whyte mandotory next year around May if these dates hold and Fury and Joshua win their next fights , getting Wilder out of the picture is a huge plus ,the question is will Usyk take side step money and does Fury really want AJ which I’m not convinced still ?

How many good names does Whyte have on his record? Fury/AJ is a much more desirable fight every belt in the division on the line, making one man the undisputed champion. Nobody is worried about Fury losing to Whyte, we seen Whyte get destroyed by AJ already. Stop with the nonsense and stories, in the big picture Whyte is irrelevant and you know it.

Right. But you didn't answer any of my questions. Typical of a Fury fan, because you know the answers are not in your favor. Again, if Fury is not worried about losing to Whyte, then fight him, beat him and prove you are better. If Fury skips Whyte, he gets stripped and then there is no unification. Get that dumbassss
