He was prepared to get in with Golovkin before all that!
However, as you say, since then he has been matched carefully and being given the chance to develop; a strategy that makes good business sense but which can/will only continue for a finite period.

Even the this version of GGG beats Mungia. He has literally made his name fight Ali who was 20 pounds too small that had a belt only because he beat a shop worn elderly Cotto. Mungia needs alot of work to fight any of the real top dogs at 160
