If they had to fight without headgear, and throw punches with bad intentions, Tyson would ko Jones, even at this age. The power stays with you, the speed and athleticism is what slips away more with age.

Since Mike's last win Briggs has had 26 fights plus several camps for canceled fights. He won a world title, went 12 with Ibragimov, and went 12 with Klitschko despite tearing a bicep in the first round, and knocked out over 20 dudes. He has won his last 9, some as recently as 2016. Plus he's 6 years younger.
      Let's Go, Champ!

You can't tell me the pressers and the buildup wouldn't be epic.

Show Briggs running up on Tyson at his home while Jamie Foxx is there. Let's see what happens when Briggs tries to eat Tyson's food.

      "Fine, I'll just your children!"

There's no winner, no judges, thus no point. I agree it should be canceled unless they do it full-stop legit OR as a real exhibition.

Hell, do Tyson vs. 5 scrubs like Foreman did with judges and a winner.

Do SOMETHING that matters or do nothing.

I don't want to watch my favorite boxer, Mike Tyson, get hit in the head again.

Roy Jones shouldn't be getting hit in the head anymore either.

I highly doubtful that this fight even sells well, I'm sure they were thinking this would get a good amount of steam to sell the fight and were probably dissatisfied with the lack of interest in this.
I agree with you about the prospect of this "fight" never happening since both Roy and Mike are too old and vulnerable to take punches but I can't say I agree about the supposed lack of interest. People know Mike Tyson. People who know next to nothing about boxing know Mike Tyson. There is definitely serious interest from individuals from all walks of life, of all ages, to see Mike in the ring in any capacity. To the hardcore boxing fan, it is a joke, a circus, a fiasco, irresponsible, pointless spectacle, whatever you want to call it. To the casual fan and people who know Mike Tyson more from Mike Tyson's Punch Out, The Hangover and his new found fame post-retirement, it's worth paying to see.
I wouldn't be surprised if it did better than any PPV in UFC or boxing this year, sad as that would be.
My thoughts on the postponement is this: either A: One or both fighters want more time to prepare or B: There isn't enough of an undercard to put on a length PPV card yet but who knows you may be right.
Personally, with the amount of visibility Mike is getting lately, and all the buzz that has stirred up in the mainstream sports media, I don't think the amount of interest should be a problem.

I hear you but you're kind of contradicting yourself there. If they need more time to properly promote the fight, why are the two guys you play poker with, who know nothing about boxing, excitedly asking you about the fight?

              No.

How on earth can a boxing match, be described as a joke? So retired soccer players can still compete against each other, but boxers cannot? Boxing fans as a whole accept for me and afew others seem to be the most, negative and morbid individuals in all of sports.

If two men want to fight, if they train and past all medical test 'They have a right to fight'. I am not sure what the issue is, what people have with such events 'If somebody gets sparked out, so what' Get over it, that is boxing.

These type of events are not bad for boxing, humans are not that ****** 'They will understand that the action is two retired boxing competing etc'.

A circus? Get out of here.

I think your post is highly disrespectful, and insulting towards both Mike Tyson & Roy Jones Junior. Then you have the boxing fans who state things like 'I don't want to see people get hurt'. Listen? Life is going to hurt you, sometimes pain let's you know that your are still alive. I am of the belief that these two men WANT to live, they want to feel the danger of that risk again 'Because sometimes that is what living is about'.

As Roy Jones stated in a recent interview, some people are born and breed to do certain things in life 'Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Junior where born and bred to do this'.

It is time to let them back out of the cage, and captivity.

Wonder if Jake Paul recent Issues with the Law had something to do with the Postponement as well. Sounds crazy BUT he Does bring a younger crowd being on the Undercard

Not excited for this fight BUT I will watch

Mike would out run anyone on here doing up to 10 miles if he wanted .I bet very few actually boxed on here and would be gasping for air in 2 minutes if they knew how hard training was . I’m not sure why guys like you comment on world class fighters as though you think they haven’t been through the ringer before ? Mike would out work 99. % of the guys right now the shape he’s in .

Coz "guys like me" know that there's a difference between boxing at 54 when you've been out for 15 years and training clips. Cardio is even harder to maintain at heavyweight. Mike said that when he was training for Nielsen at first running round the block nearly killed him. He confessed to being so gassed against Williams and McBride that he could barely get off the floor at the end. I had a few amateur fights, and that was when I was young, I know how hard it is. Guys like Froch, who was the one saying how hard it will be for Mikes cardio know a damn sight more than a guy like you as well. Its common knowledge Mike got obese in hes layoff, and also has a bad chest. You don't just regenerate to glory days as you get old as you please by putting some miles in. If only it was as easy as in your fantasy world. The body changes and you no longer have "it".Get off that high horse and learn about reality.
