What racist remarks Did Paulie say to get fired?

Even if you don’t agree with Paulie it’s an embarrassment to fire him. He was good at his job. The idea that you can be good at your job and get fired for having an opinion that doesn’t fit the popular narrative is pathetic. And I say this as someone who disagrees with Paulie.Comment

So the answer is to make a phony apology ? I have plenty of melanin and feel Paulie was fired over nonsense.I understand Paulie’s sentiment that classism is a bigger problem than racism but to say that systematic racism doesn’t exist shows his profound ignorance and further confirms the fish bowl mentality some people of the other ethnicities have of views on melanin people in general!
Haney said something that wasn’t even remotely close to racist but ignorant yet he still apologized and Paulie refused!
So not sure why people are still in their panties about him being fired, he showed ignorant racial bias plus a view of a bigot and didn’t want to apologize!
All this shows me is that I’m glad he’s gone, I wanted him gone ever since he sold out his own country for the UK!
Good riddance, now he can go to the sinking ships of DAZN and Sky sports an yack about their majority garbage fights with maybe one or two good ones!
He wasn’t animated or defiant, he just stated his opinion. We keep making the mistake acting like other opinions are facts.
Facts - Eastern Europeans are dominant, but not the only dominant group in boxing
Opinion - Eastern Europeans don’t dominate boxing.
Opinion - eastern euros dominate boxing.
Both are right and wrong, but eastern euros are a force in boxing. That’s a fact.
What saves showtime is it appears this is nothing new and they hold their broadcast team to high ethical standards. Other broadcasters have been fired
for less.Comment

Paulie f’d up by using the words
Dominant and species in a topic that involves blacks
America is too PC and sensitive these days.
Good thing active fighters can still speak their mindsComment

So you say you have plenty of melanin yet you think his comment of there’s no such thing as systematic racism isn’t appalling and not worth looking into despite the long incredulous disgusting history of racism in this countries system that still carries on today isn’t warranting of at least an apology? So the answer is to make a phony apology ? I have plenty of melanin and feel Paulie was fired over nonsense.

Dude stop it, your not melanin not even an ounce if you truly believe that! And if you are then you’ve likely lived a life secluded in the suburbs bubble and never experienced what’s its like when people treat you different cuz of racial bias and bigotry!
No it’s not “us” making the mistake of making people’s opinions facts, it’s “us” that we’ve allowed ourselves to be so weakened community wise and family structure wise and not building enough foundation for our culture to have a real power hold in this society to decrease crap like what Paulie ignorantly doesn’t think is real!
Melanin people have been charged with crimes they’ve never committed
They have been accused of many things and never was given just due plenty of times
They have been portrayed negatively in movies and in music for so long!
All these things and more is just a indefinite disposition of what Paulie doesn’t know what he’s talking about cuz he’s not melanin and it’s not his problem!
You say ****** stuff and there are consequences, simple!Comment

Sorry but that idiot was not “good” at his job.Even if you don’t agree with Paulie it’s an embarrassment to fire him. He was good at his job. To be a good commentator first and for most you have to be fair and Paulie was far from that he was biased as fucck the most biased on air commentator I’ve ever seen, he went into the fight with predetermined favoritism.
Fuxxxk him he’s a lying pos his “opinion” was a lie and he knows it because if he was being “real” like he try to make ppl believe he would have aknowledged that the top star in boxing is a Mexican not an eastern euro but that’s how he works he was a biased lying pos but because he made that flawed comment is also why the pro euro guys here are defending him smh.
Bravo for showtime and Abner Mares is a helluva an upgrade compared to that squeaky voice sounding little biaatch.Comment

Showtime Boxing analyst Paulie Malignaggi was fired by Showtime sports for comments he made about race. What did he say that was so bad, you might ask: Well, here are his comments.
Malignaggi was responding to comments made from 135-pound titlist Devin Haney (24-0, 15 knockouts) who stated in April that he’d “never let a white boy beat me.”
“He probably wasn’t talking about (Vasiliy) Lomachenko,” Malignaggi said. “I assume he was talking about Luke Campbell, who I think (is) the more viable opponent that Haney would be fighting.”
“When you’re in your early twenties, you probably don’t express that very well. It’s not something that great to make racial (statements) in 2020, especially with so many racial tensions in the world.”
Then Malignaggi went into dominance in boxing by ethnicity and how throughout history, it has shifted via racial/ethnic lines.
“Boxing has had its course in history with certain demographics dominating more than others, right?” Malignaggi said in the video. “Maybe like 100 years ago, Irish fighters were better. And then the ***s and the Italians came in. I think the African-American fighter became most dominant in the sport in the 70s, 80s, and even 90s.”
Paulie went on to add that “it’s not great to have the race discussion because it’s going to coordinate division,” before stating “it’s no longer the time of the African American anymore in boxing.”
“It’s (the Eastern Europeans) that has become the dominant species in boxing,” Malignaggi said. “I think stating something like (Haney’s statement) could be very dangerous.” Turns out the comments are very dangerous to Paulie’s job.Comment

Nowhere on there did that racist fuxxxk mention Latino fighters yet along with Afro Americans have been the most dominant over the last several decades.
EAstern Europe hasn’t even had a fraction of the great fighters Latin America has produced yet he conveniently turned a blind eye to it lol
Malignaggi got but hurt when Haney made the white boy comment just like alotta folks here did difference is he’s a commentator he’s supposed to stay professional and not let his personal feeling get in the way yet his narcissism didn’t allow him to do that.Last edited by kidbazooka; 08-10-2020, 01:17 AM.Comment
