Sergio wants this really bad. He can't do anything about it. He said many times in the last year that he desires to come back and fight and he will do it no matter what.

I kinda hate the whole Cotto thing. It was a nice payday, but it ****** because his knee was just awful. I take nothing from Cotto, but he didn’t get the best form of Martínez.

Really no need to see him comeback
He’ll never get to what he was so can’t see this as being a successful comeback
It depends on how he defines "success". For Sergio, success might mean simply getting back in the ring. Better to give it your best shot than to regret not trying at all.

GGG fought only fought Martinez' leftovers because he couldn't get Martinez himself in the ring.

I don't entirely fault Sergio though because Golovkin started his ascent just as Martinez started to decline. It would have been a great "changing of the guard" fight in 2013 though.

Sergio is 45, hasn't boxed in 6 years AND he has bad knees? Uh, sure, a comeback... I can totally see that working well for him.

              Sorry , I can’t agree with you
The guy has a bum knee which he’ll probably injure again for one
Two , he’s fighting nothing special which won’t bring any attraction
Three , he looked like chit his last time out , imagine now older and much more ring rust

I understand that viewpoint and perhaps things will turn out that way.

My response to that is I'm assuming that if his knee is holding up during training then he thinks it will hold up during the fight. If the knee was that bad then I imagine he would have shut down the idea during training camp

As for the attraction, it sounds like he just wants to fight so maybe that's not a factor as far as his motivation for doing it

As for how he will look, I don't think he will look great either but if he wants to try then more power to him.

If he gets out there and realizes that it was a mistake then at least he knows he gave it a shot. It's easier to live with failure than regrets and "what if's"

Just my two cents and I certainly appreciate your point of view.

Just thinking it will be a great waste of fughin time
A bum knee is just that , a bum knee
I just don’t see much coming out of this besides Sergio getting humiliated or injured
That my friend , are just my 2 cents lol
