No he wouldnt, Floyd carried him with him having a 25lb weight advantage, a top 10 boxer the same size as Connor will run right through him, Im no Horn fan but I would bet he stops Connor.
Floyd walked him down like it was nothing, never before has Mayweather fought like that, he was able too because of how far behind Connor really was, if Floyds bet was to stop him in 3 instead of 10 he would have.
He was barely able to survive 10 rounds fighting retired welterweight.
Every top 10 welterweight finishes him inside 3-4 rounds. NO, he wouldn`t be solid journeyman. I am sure Josesito Lopez beats him easier Mayweather did.
I agree that if Conor focused on boxing he COULD become a solid journeyman. He was an amateur boxer in his younger days if I recall correctly and he is no stranger to professional grade training. Horn, while not great, did manage to pull off the robbery against Pacquiao so he does have at least some skill. Mcgregor was throwing rabbit punches and his form looked awful at times vs FMJ. I was expecting McGregor to begin windmilling at any time. I don't think McGregor beats Horn in just his 2nd "pro" fight. I'm no Horn fan by any stretch of the imagination but my money would be on Horn
McGregor is HUGE compared to Horn, greater reach and a busy jab, which I think would throw Horn off and not allow him to get set.
What people don't understand about Horn, is that he's effective when he's able to use his size to bully the opponent. That won't happen against Conor McGregor.
Second, even if you do throw Mark Nelson in there to let these guys get rough, that roughhousing favors Conor by a country mile. One good placed elbow strike and Horn either quits or gets a towel thrown.
