*** if I know. I just know they happen all the time. And that's because I'm not new to the sport.

What I said went over your head. You shoulda asked a valid question if you were confused about anything.

Not sure where the bid will start, I guess we will have to wait until Tuesday but interesting how they made sure to note:
The purse bid hearing will be open to all WBC-registered promoters.
Eddie Hearn and Eric Gomez probably will strike a deal at the last minute

Same here. Sicko or someone else will know.

I was asking because we don't need another fight falling apart like the situation Top Rank is dealing with now.

Thanks. My question was more like why do purse bids happen?

              Oh Ok

When a Sanctioning Body Orders a fight the promoters of those fighters are giving a deadline to strike a deal on their own. If they can't come to an agreement then it goes to Purse Bid which is open to the highest bidder regardless of Promotion/Promoter or Network. So come Tuesday anybody can come in and bid for this fight which most promoters really don't like doing

The purse in a purse bid is split between the fighters according to the preset formulas of the sanctioning commissions. So I guess we just have to wait until Tuesday and WBC President Sulaiman will have to break that all down potential bidders before the bidding starts.

This is not a Champion vs Challenger Purse bid in which the Champion automatically gets the Larger % so I'm going to assume they would split the Purse Bid Winnings 50/50 maybe

yeah it is all confusing which is why promoters typically prefer to avoid it and just get a deal done

Thanks so much for the enlightenment. I hope these alphabet belts will disappear someday.

Green K for the effort, my brother.

DAZN has to much dead money tied up in fighters and promoters who don’t move the needle such as Hearn & Andrade combo.. paid these guys mega bucks meanwhile Ryan getting peanuts and he’s a major producer

Hearn gonna open up the war chest? Hahaha. There are two things wrong with that statement. Hearn won't pay to get his guy beat and if Hearn thinks it's a risk, he won't even bid. Get the shot, but keep it cheap, or get outbid and let somebody else pay for it. If Campbell was a sure thing, Ryan wouldn't have called him out, and that's enough to spook Eddy.
