Teofimo Lopez Jr. Has Spoken Via Tweet: "I Am In Negotiations Now"

Teofimo Lopez Jr. is "back in the conference room," negotiating a deal to keep the Lomachenko vs Lopez bout alive, per Tweet Today.

He said: "This fight is going to happen. Stuff like this takes a little longer to happen and that's why it's called 'negotiating' for a reason. Dumb asses!"

Who here believes that this "negotiation" is a direct result of the public uproar made by his turning down one million and two-hundred thousand dollars because his family needs to eat? I think he had his ears to the ground, and this is the result.

When did he ever say the negotiations were done with? Who do you think leaked it to the press that Lopez was being offered 1.2M?

Yeah. It'll be interesting to see what offer he accepts now. I think if it's only marginally better than the millions he was asking for, then we'll know he caved because of the pressure

It's due to Arum telling him it's take it or leave it. Plus, Lopez could have said that we're still in negotiations a week ago or so. He was getting heat all week, and now he comes out and says he's in negotiations? I don't think so. He turned it down to fight his mandatory, and then either Top Rank/ESPN contacted him, or he contacted them and said, "Hold up here; I've rethought this and here's my counter-offer now."

Ha! So THAT'S what happened? Lopez and Lomachenko literally got their offers last week. Lopez NEVER said he stopped being in negotiations. Arum is trying to play hard ball and it may work, but that's all this is. So if he ends up getting more than 1.2M, then what? And the one making another offer would be Arum, not Lopez's side. Clearly they have a number in their mind and it is Arum telling them he can't give them that much at this time. LIS earlier, they can meet in the middle of their target and get this done. I've been hopeful of this match up still taking place regardless of the comments the last few days.

If the kid comes out with $1.5 mil+ I reckon he can be happy with it.
