Whyte is strong but flat footed. Povetkin has fast hands and quick feet. I honestly see him giving Whyte big problems whether or not he can get the win. Whyte will need to hit Povetkin with something big and early.

Interesting. How about a 40 year old version, since he’s 40.

Whatever, you know what I mean. Plus with covid delays and everything else going on its not like he would be getting a shot in the next 12 months.

He's just another guy like Pulev, who wasn't quite good enough in his prime, and definatley isn't now. At least Whyte is in his prime and we know will turn up and give it a real go against fury/joshua/Wilder and we might get some fireworks, Povetkin would just get brutally ko'd again in a routine defence.

I don't understand why people talk about Povetkin like he's 33 not 40

When was Povetkin last performance when he looked really good? I mean I guess you could say he looked "OK" vs Joshua for a couple of rounds, that was two years ago, but for an actual real hood performance, probably Duhaupas nearly 4 years ago, AND he was on meldonium in that fight.

Whyte looked like **** against Wach, Rivas, Parker...so yeah, I believe Povetkin can beat him.

This was a fairly recent video interview he did... https://www.instagram.com/p/CDRG7m9qKvh/

First thing I notice... his face is skinnier... looks like he has been cutting fat.

Keep in mind, Hunter was his first fight back after surgery and he had a decent amount of lay off time... I am fairly certain he did not expect to get the draw and fully expected to get a loss against Hunter... but he arguably won the fight (especially after that Kd was not scored).

So... a trained Povetkin vs Whyte.... this is a very good place for him to be in.

He eats fat shorter guys quite well... and I think this may be an easier fight for Povetkin than Hunter was.... Whyte is VERY hittable, and will be slower than Hunter, and I highly doubt Whyte will come out swinging in round 1 like Hunter did.

At the same time, Whyte has shown bad signs the entire time... I really do think knowing that Fury vs AJ is the goal... maybe he is ready to call it quits on boxing and move to MMA as he entertained?

This is a VERY winnable fight for Povetkin and I am really looking forward to it.

Um, he would have won against Hunter if the Kd was called... and he looked pretty good in that fight... and again he looked great and quick vs Price (despite getting caught, and still stayed on his feet, from a punch that would KO most people), and looked great against Hughie Fury....

Povetkin also recently had shoulder surgery and is staying in shape and getting rest...

Is he 35? No... but he is still damn good and if the Whyte shows up that showed up against Wach... he will be a punching bag for Povetkin.

It would be hilarious if Povetkin wins.

They are both no competition for Fury and Joshua, but I would like to see Povetkin fighting Ruiz and Ortiz before he retires.
