It's irrelevant who was champ, especially when you remember that Loma made MORE than Linares. Loma got 1.2 million, 200K more than Jorge. That's almost a 50/50 split.

Loma got 2 million to Pedraza's 1 million. That's thirty-three and a third percent to Jose.

1.2 million of a 4.45 million dollar pot (Loma is getting 3.25 million, right?) is less than 27%.

It's lowkey an insult given what has happened before.

What Loma earns is nothing to do his opponents purse. Loma will earn more and more if he keeps what he’s doing. His opponents will be getting smaller percentages that reflect this, though will be earning more given the bigger overall pot. It’s really not difficult to understand so I don’t get why you keep quoting percentages like that

That's the point he's not willing to accept. That certain fighters simply earned their way to reach such status. Percentages don't apply much like in Canelo's case, although in different proportion.

Man, I just don't understand how folks call themselves fans of the sport then turn around and employ zero sum logic to guys putting their lives on the line.

And because the Loma fanboys have their panties and girdles all bunched up, we can't even get anywhere near the real discussion that needs to be had here.

Namely this:

We know Arum is swimming in ESPN money he hasn't had to spend because of the coronavirus...so why is he nickel and diming one of his biggest most marketable stars?

The only answer I come up with is that maybe the Master Marinator doesn't really want to see this non-ppv, non-gate fight right now. He'd much rather wait till folks are spending money on tickets again, til he can put it on ppv for $75 a pop here and $30 a pop in Britain instead of the free ESPN telecast being talked about now.
