Workpoint Studio, **** Phun, Thailand - In a battle of former world champions, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (48-5-1, 41 KOs) started very slow in the first half, but picked things up in the second half to win a ten round unanimous decision over countryman Amnat Ruenroeng (20-4, 6 KOs).

Missed most of the fight, but I saw SSR win the last 4/5 rounds. Apparently the 9-1 scorecard was daylight robbery.

SSR's power didn't carry up to 120lbs. He's got a bad cut over his left eye which means he won't box again until at least January I think. If I was Choco I would be fancying my chances against SSR, but he has had 16months out of the ring so was obviously rusty.

Damn, I would give Chocolatito a great chance to beat Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.

Dang that's a pretty bad accidental head clash. And of course I missed this fight and forgot to get my pickem choice on time cause of God damn time zones. Typical bum move on my part.

Managed to wake up to catch the card. Like many pressure/volume fighters, SSR started slow and looked very rusty. His timing was off and Amnat looked very cagey and tricky. SSR started to get his timing and find his groove when the clash of heads occurred. I thought the cut bothered him early. I had Amnat winning 3 or 4 of the first 5 rounds and thought there may be an upset brewing.

In round 6, Amnat's age and conditioning started to betray him and SSR was beginning to turn on the pressure. To my eyes, SSR won the final 5 rounds. Amnat was game and skilled landing the occasional flashy punch but he just wasn't productive enough.

SSR didn't look good at all and Amnat could have won if he hadn't gassed so much in second half. I think the ring rust and cut played a factor but he needs to be at a whole other level to prevail against Chocalatito, Estrada or others.

I told you, Srisaket has lost the animal instinct. He stopped eating grilled rat, he stopped training in a jungle, he's clean and civilized. He has to get back to basics.

I think picking Rungvisai by decision paid like +400. Odds makers really didn’t think the opponent would last.
