Comments Thread For: Sor Rungvisai-Ruenroeng Weigh-In Report From **** Phun

Four months later, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Amnat Ruenroeng are still ready to collide. Two of the more accomplished boxers to ever come out of Thailand will meet in a 10-round non-title fight Saturday afternoon (local time) in **** Phun, Thailand. Both boxers weighed 120 pounds for the event, which will stream live globally on the YouTube channel of Matchroom Boxing, Sor Rungvisai's co-promoter.

I didnt realize how stacked the Opponent of Rungvisai is. He has wins over Kazuto Ioka, Rocky Fuentes, Casimero, Zou Shiming, McWilliams Arroyo. That kind of resume is ridiculous. Though his age would dampen that win over him but still, thats impressive.

Yeah Ruenroeng has an excellent resume, he's just awful to watch however. In a not too different world; had he turned pro earlier, fought more frequently, and fought a few more big names from 112-118 he could have put together a HOF resume. A triangle between Ruenroeng v Mthalane v Yaegashi would have been fascinating in their primes. His wins over Ioka and Casimero have aged especially well.

Ruenroeng is shot though, I'm expecting TKO by 6.

Yeah, I got Rungvisai in 3. His shot to **** at 40, let alone a super fly.

While not particularly well versed in lower weights and Thai fighters I was also impressed by his resume but that 40 year age stands out pretty hard. Especially since I am like 2 months younger than Sor Rungvisai and starting to feel the effects of father time myself. Add on 7 years and probably some wars and you've got yourself a bad time.

Also neglected to acknowledge the great point the poster above me mentioned that men in low weight categories do NOT age well.
