Comments Thread For: Canelo Return on September 12 Not Looking Realistic, Says Hearn

September 12 is no longer a realistic date for the next fight of Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, according to Eddie Hearn, who says that he believes the Mexican modern-day legend could wait until November to box next in the hope that some fans will be able to attend.

Doesn't really matter. Just needs to get a fight in before year's end. Canelo hasn't been fighting much on the Mexican holiday dates lately anyways.

I read a story on ESPN where Canelo's lawyer said that the hold up was DAZN, not Smith, not Canelo, but DAZN itself. Even though Canelo and Smith hadn't come to an agreement, according to the lawyer and everyone else, they were really close but DAZN wouldn't say if their were going to Cough up the cash so things got cold. If I was Canelo and his team, I would give DAZN an ultimatum, live up to the contract or let's scratch the whole thing up. People need to realize that until there's a vaccine for this mess were in, live fans is not going to happen this year, especially in the states were we got a bunch of Hick dip Sh*** who think it's a hoax and refuse to wear a mask, it's going to get worse heading into fall and winter. Canelo would get scooped up by either ESPN, Fox, or Showtime, he wouldn't get the same guarantee, but he would probably get a minimum 20 million purse with the PPV upside and would probably make the same amount that he got with DAZN anyway. The networks would also give him a bigger platform than DAZN could ever provide. The smart thing is to leave DAZN in the rear view mirror.

Tyson vs Jones already stole September date, Tyson is a much MUCH bigger name and attraction than Canelo even at his age now.

Mike is a legend, but only casual dip sh*** are buying that garbage. It's an exhibition for crying out loud, are you buying it?

Casual dip****s are what makes ppv's huge. That's basically the audience.

That's why the Tyson fight will do way better than it should.

Lol, this fight gets 300k max, and that's only if football is not back and there's no other sports to watch, I'm sure they will get media attention but it's not going to translate to buys. Are you going to buy?

Tyson and Roy took his date and he can't do s*** about it now. 2nd yr in a row Canelo will leave his Mexican fans out to dry on their holiday due to his diva ways and dazn standoffs, after he previously expressed desperation to get those dates from Floyd. He never really cared about those dates or his fans, but some of his fans on here would take 8 bullets to the neck for him.

I dont buy ANY ppv.....I find a stream usually. PPV is a rip off, but yeah I'll watch it some how....Tyson fan here, yeah it's only an exhibition, but hey....might be worth a watch, kinda nostalgic
