It's good to hear this as some deluded one's seem to think they get better.A fearsome puncher with a lions heart ....back then. The ring is an exciting and dangerous place for a young man the odds of injury rise rapidly with age so i'll say again , good to hear Matthysse .....happy retirement .

A fighter like Matthysse would have benefited a lot from a good trainer like Robert Garcia. It always annoyed me how he had a pretty much nonexistent jab. Garcia would have taught him how to jab his way in to set up his big power shots better. His corner ******.

Not that I care that I won't change your mind, but you never stop learning and you can always grow as an athlete, being an athlete is far more than athletics and fighting is more than stamina.
But you're an armchair athlete who would probably pass out shadowboxing, what do you know about the human body. Rhetorical question.

Maidana would have stopped him if they had fought. Matthysse took a lot of damage from guys like Provodnikov, Postol, Danny, even small old Pacquiao, imagine what would 30 old Maidana do to him.
