Then, bend at the waist allowing the slob to lean all of his body weight down on you
Then, be unfortunate enough to have a numbskull ref running things....

That’s the same thing that Wilder and his team thought. And look what happened when he finally fought a fit Fury.

You have to remember that wilder isn’t a boxer at all. In a boxing match he has frequently been behind on the scores. Ortiz for example was ahead against him twice, even Stiverne was beating him. Eric molina had him rocked.

The key difference was the ability to finish off the job. Stiverne never really was close, Molina didn’t have the technique himself. Ortiz was partially unlucky with timing of rounds/extra recovery time given - but he also looked gassed. That’s of course not fully unusual because all boxers gas after too many punches.

Fury did do well , given many painted over his previous cracks well like they hadn’t happened but the weaknesses were there, wilder was considered one of the best and opinion of many the topdog

Let’s not pretend fury doesn’t have his own weaknesses either as they will come back to bite. I haven’t fully read what Joshua said but the headline I fully understand - all respected fighters at heavyweight lose at some point because they put themselves against the best.

If people were to rank top20 opponents for fury you would come against 2.

Joshua- who joined the sport much later you could name potentially the following:

          Whyte
          Takam
          Parker
          Povetkin
          Ruiz
          Klitschko

That doesn’t mean fury can’t or won’t in the future - but as I mentioned previously there are a number of fighters he could and should be taking on. If he is as good as many of his fans say then it won’t be an issue dismantling thoae in easy fashion and cementing his place firmly at the top - but this time complete undisputed - and making a claim as a hall of famer.

          Let’s hope he does.

Well so far. But he rarely gets hit flush because of the type of boxer he is.

Wish he had been in with more top boxers so we would have a better idea of how good he is
