Comments Thread For: Vergil Ortiz Jr: I Know This Is My Time

By Jake Donovan - Six months had already passed from the time Vergil Ortiz Jr. last fought when he received that call. Gone in an instant were designs for his promotional stablemate Ryan Garcia to usher in the triumphant return of boxing in California and on DAZN-USA. Instead, Golden Boy Promotions decided to move away from the idea of running a show...

Vergil about to cut up the entire 147 lbs. division, starting w/t Ugas once he becomes the WBA regular Champion. As the WBA gold champ Vergil guaranteed a shot @ the regular belt after that he’ll be chasin PacMan for the super belt @ 147, won’t be surprise when Manny decides to drop the belt instead of facing jr.

Crawford takes him out late, noticed in last fight that he gets anxious and careless when the knockout is not happening

Virgil for now needs some more fine tuning and a step up in competition, not the punching bags he has faced so far. An exciting fighter non theless and wish him all the best in going for his dreams

I'm more interested in seeing an opponent that can take Ortiz to deep waters because it is important to know how he adjusts in the late rounds. Unfortunately, Vargas is not that guy and Ortiz will only get some rounds in since he hasn't fought in a while and then take out Vargas. Now that Ortiz is at 147, Oscar has got to do better in matchmaking to prepare him for a shot at a title. Ortiz has to make mistakes to make himself better and a complete fighter

Ugas whoops Crawford? From which alternate dimension are you transmitting? What is the dominant species in your world?

This guy will take over the division when active champs retire or move up ( Spence) . He is 22, he will by a champ by 26 -27. Boots and him.

Ortiz was carrying vargas last night -- he just needs more rounds in the ring...

Ortiz is only 22 yo, as we all know... He doesn't have to fight Bud or Spence anytime soon...
