So I gather, isn’t Davis going to miss weight intentionally? I don’t see any benefit why Davis needs it.

it is just a fight both men agreed to. They will decide who wins themselves. Mayweather and Haymon won't be in the ring. So unless somebody got to the judges the better fighter will win.

Tank Davis, thats why they brought Cruz up from a lower weight to help turn the superstar into a megastar. Cruz is on the way out. You don't invest in someone who is on the way out and smaller. Cruz is there to help sell his mexican fans to Davis, its a formula that most promoter use in boxing.
