BJS is a great boxer, but he needs to wakeup and realize he isn't a comedian. AT ALL. This is way past ridiculous. He needs to just grow up and concentrate solely on the sport he's good at.

BJS has enough money to do whatever the hell he wants to, and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

It's hilarious how much he triggers people.

I love a joke as the next man, but BJS just doesn't know when to stop, yeah freedom of speech and all of that but then there are consequences for saying or doing whatever you like. The fine and non-suspension is fine as his punishment.

A joke is a joke, by definition not to be taken seriously. To get fined for telling a joke is ridiculous.
I think maybe those who have been and continue to be subject to domestic violence might not find Billy Joe's humour quite so funny... you don't think perhaps their feelings should be taken into account here? It's one thing to joke about shet like that in front of mates who understand your intent and quite another to essentially publicly trivialise the genuine suffering and trauma of thousands.

In general I'm in favour of finding humour in life, it's one of our best tools for dealing with stressful situations or difficult emotions, but in this case, in these circumstances, it was one he should have kept to within his personal circle. Easy to say it's 'just a joke' when you ain't the butt.

Context is kinda important here also, maybe a black comedian might be able to make some hilarious observations about say, slavery. but the same shet told by a white dude wouldn't be OK at all yeah? I think most people would get that.

Well, Billy Joe's a self confessed misogynist with history of offensive and contemptuous behaviour towards women.... kinda adds an unpleasant edge to this sort of humour.

I see this as more a justified slap on the wrist for a repeat idiot... no one's about to reform Billy Joe but it might go a ways towards making him give a second thought about consequences before his next stunt.

I don't know what's more disgusting. The board who blatantly just pocketed 15k over hurt feelings or the boxers who clutched their pearls demanding BJS be removed from the sport.

Pearl Clutcher... not one I'd heard before. I like that.

Prim and prudish you say? Yeah maybe, on certain issues I'll own that I might be a lil bit of a 'save a hoe'. The plight of the vulnerable has always moved me. Maybe it's no coincidence I'm also a dude that grew up watching his ma take a few solid backhands and fat lips.

You got kids? Daughters? Perhaps you'd have a little more insight if maybe it was your sister or daughter trapped in a one-bedroom for months with a dude that was intimidating or punching her? You reckon you might see the situation different then?

Like I say, I ain't in favour of curtailing freedom of speech, but I am in favour of consequences when that freedom of speech can cause genuine emotional distress or even, potentially, lead to real material danger.

Practically Billy Joe Saunders can do anything and the consequences are little.

Pay us and we give you the licence to box. This is a fucking slap in the wrist, especially, If Daniel Kinahan's pay his fine. IMAO. LOL.

You always liked Billy Joe. He mustve been a hell of a disappointment for you. Looks like he's looking for Eubank rematch to be the highlight of hes career.

I think he should have freedom of speech to offend anyone. The board always has had a policy of fining people who brought boxing into "disrepute", other than promoters obviously. But he's a scumbag, who has he's funny moments, is a decent boxer, and a trash human being. And all those people he ****ed over will have a laugh when it's hes turn to be on hes arse, which it will be one day.
