Comments Thread For: Ryder's Trainer: Callum Smith Would Also Be Huge Underdog With Canelo

John Ryder still holds a ticket in the Canelo sweepstakes but his trainer, Tony Sims, admits they might not be holding the golden one. Super middleweight No.1 Callum Smith is thought to be Team Canelo's first choice but Ryder, who pushed Smith all the way at the end of last year, is waiting in the wings if a deal can't be done between Canelo, who holds a win over Callum's brother Liam, and the man from Liverpool.

Canelo is unbeatable in Vegas. That's a fact. So it's meaningless no matter who he fights. Would rather see Ryder.

Smith must be taking advice from Dillian Whyte; that's a shame.

He's taking advice from Gallagher which is even worse!

            $5 million.

Why would he turn that down?

It's prizefighting. What's he in it for?

Canelo would destroy the far too mechanical Smith. Ryder's more slippery bob and weave style would fare better - might even go 12.
Smith has absolutely no chance vs Canelo.

Nice to hear from Brits that Canelo is the # 1 pound-for-pound and not Lomachenko. Itīs the truth. Loma might be the 2nd or 3rd.
