Comments Thread For: Gervonta Davis-Leo Santa Cruz: Their 130-Pound, 135-Pound Titles Will Be At Stake

Gervonta Davis has agreed to move back down to the junior lightweight limit of 130 pounds for his showdown with Leo Santa Cruz. Yet even though Davis and Santa Cruz contractually are obligated to weigh in at the junior lightweight maximum of 130, Davis' 135-pound title will be at stake October 24 as well. They'll fight for Davis' WBA world lightweight title and Santa Cruz's WBA "super" super featherweight championship when they square off in a Showtime Pay-Per-View main event tentatively set to take place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

130 is where Tank belongs. He's a huge favorite, if he can make Weight. That 135 title is going to turn into more trouble than it's worth, if he loses and I don't see how LSC can do anything with it.

Interesting twist, the question is will Davis be able to get to 130. I see Santa Cruz outclassing Davis as he just swings and misses looking for a KO. Who knows, someone may catch corona and the fight will be canceled

WBA is that low that I am not much surprised of such shіt. Don't get me wrong, I personally aren't sure whether situation per se is right or wrong BUT SOLELY DE-JURE THIS CAN'T BE JUSTIFIED BY SAME ORGANIZATION OF BOTH BELTS!

Imagine if one had WBC and another had WBA in which case WBA would have no business about involving or not involving of another belt and would only consider agreement about weight limit (and probably should have allowed it if both fighters agreed and if that is a VOLUNTEER belt defence).

But in this case it is a Fing facepalm where WBA cannot ignore the fact that there are their belts from BOTH weight categories and only one should be at stake. But after WBA stripped Rigondeao for loosing to Loma in 2 weight category above I am not very much surprised.

Davis is overconfident as I'd be too if I had a patsy like Cruz in front of me. One thing about Davis is he doesn't really care much about these crooked belts.

Absolutely. He'll crush Santa like a bug. Keep watching.
As I said before, Davis is gonna fight in both weights, 30 and 35

Davis seriously struggled to make 135lbs. No way can he make 130🥊
