I love the fact that Valdez is game and willing to fight anybody, but the performance he put on last night wasn't convincing at all. I can't picture him giving Berchelt many problems, if any.

He has been out of the ring for a while so that's probably why he didn't perform as well. Hopefully, that's the reason why. Hopefully.

This was actually a fairly entertaining card though mismatches like usual. Velez had been handled by Garcia so I pretty much expected this.

Valdez will be put to sleep when he meets up with Berchelt

I think part of Valdez's problem is that he continues to try to prove to everyone that he's a power puncher-he was at 122 but at 130 he is lacking power to take on game opponents like Berchelt, who naturally is a heavy-handed, audacious fighter that in my my opinion even on a bad day would KO Valdez. Remember that they at one time where both trained by the Alfredo Caballero, and to me when Valdez belonged to that stable he was a much better fighter-he had better timing and his offense was a bit better but he lacked defense in my opinion. These days at least in has last 3 presentations he lacks the boxing IQ he once showed and his fighting arguments include only testicles and heart. He continues to open his mouth all the time when throwing punches and does not know when to throw controlled punches. He thinks everything should be a power shot. This would work of course if his opponents remained static but the rival always moves. Against Berchelt he will need more than testicles and heart-he will need a strategy and a corner that studies his opponent. I think once Berchelt touches him up in two rounds by the 8th if Berchelt feels any pity he will overwhelm him with a flurry of punches until the ref stops the fight-otherwise he will KO him in an ugly stoppage. What do you guys think?

I think Valdez is not good at this weight. He gets touched up fast and relies only on heart and that Mexican persistence but against a Berchelt his corner will throw in the towel or simply he gets KO'd by the 8th round if that. Remember that Berchelt is the heavy handed puncher and his previous trainer Caballero who continue to back Bercelt has said that Berchelt really punched hard and VAldez to him was more of a volume puncher. When you see Berchelt fight you see that he is a hard hitting volume puncher that can take punches pretty well. Valdez has good resilience but I think his chin will be glassy against a hard-hitting Alacran.

When did Valdez fight at 122? He showed good power against Velez he just telegraphs his punches a lot needs to just box and let it happen more naturally but at this point I think it's just his style.

well we need to see them in the ring against each other. frankly I don't see whats so great about berchelt his opponents since beating a war torn vargas have been laughable. valdez is tough as nails and fought through a broken jaw he won't crumble in the first couple of rounds like other opponents of berchelt have
