Comments Thread For: Terence Crawford: I Will Crush Jose Ramirez At 147: "It's That Simple"

It could take some time, but Terence Crawford and Jose Ramirez could be on a collision course to clash in the near future. Crawford (36-0, 27 KOs) currently competes at 147 and is the WBO welterweight champion, while Ramirez is a unified titlist at 140.

Sadly he will be the best guy on Crawford’s record to date.

Bud outboxes him, I don’t think he can outfight Ramirez who throws a lot of punches to the head an body with power an technique!

It’ll be a really good fight but as time goes on it will likely favor Jose as he’s the younger man!

I think Vergil Ortiz Jr. will fight Crawford @ 147 before Ramirez moves up to 147. Ramirez has to fight Postol, and I know he wants Josh Taylor @ 140, before moving up! Also, he'll probably take a fight @ 147 before challenging Crawford!

The best kept secret @ 140 is Shohjahon Ergashev! I hope he gets a title shot in 2021! Would like to see him fight Rances Barthelemy! PBC needs to give us that rematch between Barrios and Ahmedov ASAP!

Is Ergashev the guy who knocked a dude out within 1 round with a liver shot on showbox awhile back? That was one of the craziest body shots I’ve ever seen.

          Edit: it is

I see Ramirez following that trajectory too. It's definitely not a given that he'll get past Taylor at 140 and will need at least 2 decent fights at 147 before Crawford, although arum might try to rush him.
Given the "two fights per year" schedule most of the champs seem to be following, and the drag covid restrictions have caused, I don't see a fight with Crawford before mid 2022, if at all.

Bud will be 35! No Bueno! I think both he and Spence will be at 154 by 2022!

Ramirez doesn't have the stones to move up and face Crawford in his first fight at 147.

Why’d that be sad? Ramirez is a hell of a fighter.
