Comments Thread For: Joe Joyce's Amateur Coach Gives Take on Daniel Dubois Clash

SID KHAN, the man who taught Joe Joyce to box and older brother of London Mayor Sadiq Khan, says boxing needs the Heavyweight super-fight between Daniel Dubois and his Putney protege in October.

There's something about Joyce I'm actually quite fond of. He's got a fan friendly style of fighting, his engine is arguably the best in the HW division and he's as strong as Belgian Blue Bull!

But Sid is as deluded as his brother if he believes he's unbeatable. Usyk handled him with relative ease in the WSB and it's difficult to gauge if he's made significant improvements since then due to the level of opposition he's faced. I'm sure we'll all find out in October - cracking fight!

Joe is a good truthful fighter... Usyk is special, tbh... and Dubois style has nothing to do with Usyk's (in terms of complexity)...

I like Joyce, but he needs to make his mark sooner rather than later.
Age is against him, so the Dubois fight really is a make or break fight. If he loses it will be difficult for him to get a title shot, if Dubois loses he is young enough to rebuild his career.

Joyce really has a good engine, but if his opponent has good defense he's in trouble. He is too slow IMO.

He's one of the slowest HW prospects/contenders I've seen in recent times. He will come in aggressive against Dubois and get comprehensively blocked and countered until he runs out of ideas. Then it will end shortly afterwards.

A fair comment, I’m not convinced Dubois has a good defence though!

I don't believe so as well, I think it will be guns blazing and the best man and who really wants it wins
