The problem is Verdejo is no longer a prospect. He was top notch, and ready for a title before he started partying and lost focus. Now that he is refocused, in a new gym and vastly improved we shouldn't be talking about small steps. He looks better than he did before he lost his way. He's ready.

He's only been with his new trainer for a couple of fights and has improved each time I don't see why the rush he's only 27 . Rush him into Loma he loses then what? Better for him to have a couple more fights with his new trainer keep improving and have a better shot at who ever is champion by the end of next year .
