I dont know of too many welterweight prospects that can knock you OUT with a jab. Vergil Ortiz can put you to sleep with any punch with both hands.

Vergil is a threat to any 147 pound champion. Oscar is right, Vergil is the future of Golden-Boy, not Ryan Garcia.

In my opinion, referee Tony Chiarantano stopped the action prematurely ; so Vargas did not suffer too much punishment against Errol Spence in the few rounds shared between the two. However, In 2016, Danny Garcia did give Sam a beating for seven rounds, but, like Spence, Garcia did not put him out.

15-0-0 Vergil Ortiz is going in against Sam Vargas with a identical record as Errol Spence had in 2015 against said opponent, but Sam Vargas is a much more experienced seasoned veteran coming in with the best performances of his career vs. Amir 'King' Khan and Luis Collazo.

I think Vergil Ortiz is going to blast Sammy, but its not because Vargas is shot, I would say its because Vergil Ortiz is the most dynamic explosive prospect at 147.
Sammy will be a good test for Ortiz, without a doubt, but he's definitely not the Vargas that Spence fought, nor Garcia fought. You may think he's better now, but i don't think so. He lost a close fight with a 37-year old Luis Collazo. That says it all!

I like Ortiz, both in and out of the ring! Great Kid! Very Humble! Bright Future! However, I believe that Jaron "Boots" Ennis is the best WW prospect on the planet! What Ortiz has, that Boots does not, is a promoter on the level of Oscar De La Hoya!

I want to see them (Spence and Bud) fight each other first.

Luis Collazo's age does not rule him out as a formidable contender. Have you seen Luis Collazo vs highly touted prospect Kudratillo Abdukakhorov? whos likely to challenge for a world title? Collazo is great name for anyone ; Jaron 'Boots' Ennis ( who I like ) would love to have a win over Collazo -- he needs a name yo!

Vergil Ortiz is only 15-0 and has names! These welterweights need to step their game-up!

He's a serious threat to anyone of the elite WW's, but I don't see TC losing to him or anyone else. Bud's got too much craft and too many weapons still, but he better get going with his career before he starts slowing down. I could see Vergil winning or losing very close wars with DSG, Porter, Thurman or Ugas though. Still not sure what to make of Spence yet till we see him back in the ring.

Yeah that ****s annoying. I also wish Bob Arum would put him in there with someone who has a pulse. Bud has yet to fight anyone who’s on his level.

Can we talk about the things that Ortiz does not do right because all we been hearing is he's young and he has power and a large frame but what are his weaknesses? Of course he looks good against unknown opponents and worn out fighters he's been blasting and it's going to be no different with Sammy which I won't be tuning in to watch because mismatches are just not interesting to watch.

I think Errol clearly outclassed Vargas but Sammy was not completely out of it when he was stopped in the 4th, Vergil is set to make a statement next week. I'm eager to see what unfolds.
Who is he fighting? Anyone we know?
