Morales: "Believe in me one more time"

"As everyone knows, that the last few times that I've been in the ring, it hasn't been that good for me," stated Mexican ring legend Erik Morales at today's press conference in Las Vegas to officially announce his November 18 rubber match with Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao. "This gives me an opportunity to reverse everything and go back to where I belong. I'm asking you to believe in me one more time to show you what I can do." Pacquiao, who was the first to ever stop Morales in their second fight, stated, "It's going to be a good fight on November 18th. Both of us are trying to give you a good fight. I'm praying no one gets hurt on the 18th." Both fighters, in the hopes of starting yet another huge Flame war in the forums on Boxingscene offered the following closing comments: "Pacquaio is the only good Pinoy Boxer, and Bum Bum Bautista is no good" Morales said. "I would knock out any Mexican legend ever" Pacquiao replied. Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum commented that there is a whole staff of dependable people training Erik Morales so that he makes the 130lb weight limit for this fight. "Anybody who follows boxing and watches boxing will want to come to this fight or watch it on TV," stated the Top Rank CEO.

There's huge money fines if he's even a half pound over, so hopefully they've got it under control.

      Cheers

I can't imagine Morales making 130 safely, hes gonna have problems in November. He's not a spring chicken anymore.

The rubber match was contracted for 130, where the other fights took place.

That sucks for Morales then. He looks like he gains at least 30 pounds between fights.

It does suck, because even aside from this fight with Manny, I don't think Morales is going to be elite at 135. They guys are too big.

He can't really make 130 anymore, and I think he's above his head at 135.

That's why there's a push for him to hang them up.

Do you think that he could take on the likes of Corrales and Castillo?

Naw man, that's what I just said. At this point in his career, with the milage, I don't think he matches up well with those guys, Juan or Julio Diaz, Cassamayor... The list goes on.
