    6/10.

Anthony Joshua out pointed Ruiz Junior, in a Olympic Amateur styled game of tick. Joshua fought that way because he was still traumatised by his first defeat 'I also think Joshua was slightly over trained'. That version of Anthony Joshua would not of won the first fight, but 'He would not of been stopped by Ruiz Junior ether'.

All in all Anthony Joshua got the job done, but it was not emphatic 'Joshua did nothing special, all he did was adhere to his responsibility of being a professional boxer' and won the fight through dedicated to preparation.

Ruiz would be favourite against majority of fighters.

For me he wouldn’t be against:

      Joshua
      Fury
      Wilder
      Whyte
      Parker
      Usyk

Outside of that I think he would be at the moment, the likes of Ortiz, Povetkin, chisora he would be favourite against

5, I like AJ but Andy was not fight ready. AJ did what he had to do to get his belts back.

          4. Ruiz is not a quality fighter IMO. Aside from AJ he has no notable wins on his resume and he was horrendously out of shape. AJ did what he had to do and fought the right fight tactically but it was not an impressive win or an impressive performance.

Exactly this ... Aside from the AJ upset, who else has he beat. You don’t suddenly become an elite fighter because you had one great night.

              Ruiz had no chance whatsoever.
Avoid unnecessary engagement, stink and move, that was high technical.
              “Stink and move”

They certainly stunk the place out...

That is a tough one to rank because all the circumstances.

Joshua gets stopped in the first match, and shuts down Ruiz in the rematch in all 12. That makes it at minimum a 8.

However the fact that Ruiz showed up in such horrible shape drops down what should have been one of Joshua's signature wins after his first loss (stoppage at that) to possibly one that will be remembered as a gimme fight by many people.

All in all, I would have to rank it a 6. Maybe 7 if I am being generous. This is no fault on Joshua because he showed up. Unfortunately Ruiz did not and that puts a damper on the win.

Shades of similarity to Lennox Lewis win over McCall except Ruiz was not nearly as messed up as McCall, who should not have been allowed to fight.

I agree with the guys who point out that AJ beat a worse version of Ruiz

but he beat him under difficult circumstances, in a IMMEDIATE rematch

the method he used is debatable

you can commend AJ ability to change styles, and pull it off well

you can also criticize him for running from a donut-boy

referring to boxing as " running "... is wrong, and can be a little ignorant... I mean, it's not like AJ demanded that Ruiz stand and fight him like a Mexican, or anything like that... Ruiz should have dealt with it

I think the main issue stems from AJ's total reluctance to fight Wilder

adapting, and opening up your repertoire to display skills and athleticism... is admirable... but avoiding confrontation with a guy who is nowhere near the threat posed by a guy you are accused of avoiding... casts a little cloud over that performance

I think that is where the issue comes from

I will stick with my 6.5... it was a good win, and a necessary step in the right direction... the tactics he used were also correct, and obvious

AJ is only the 4th heavyweight to win an immediate rematch after a loss .It’s a 10 ,he made history and won easily despite so called boxing experts telling him not to .
