  • May ducked Margarito ....Instead he fought Cotto, Mosley, DLH, Nelo and Pac. Beat them all
May ducked ''prime'' Pac....Pac couldn't handle a tablespoon worth of blood without at least 2 weeks notice

    Pac fans are terribly funny

(let's not forget May is older)

To say Manny fought everybody is hyperbole. Or did he fight Paul Williams and Zab Judah and I miss it? I also don't recall Manny not fighting people on his terms once he reached a certain level.

His point about being a multiple division champ makes sense. He speaks as if Floyd is not a multiple division champion. I think he is trying to say winning titles in 8 divisions is more impressive than winning in 5 divisions. Just say that.

When I see these comments, the people talk as if Floyd never defeated any HOF level fighters or that he wasn't an immensely talented fighter. They seem to suggest Floyd was just average and made money because of some gimmick, like a Butterbean.

Floyd spent many years as the consensus #1 or #2 P4P fighter in the world. His resume is such that he is ranked ahead of Manny in every credible poll of ATG fighters where experts are polled.
How can you even speak Butterbean and Floyd in the same sentence? (with the exception of that last sentence) Floyd did turn down his offense, and in thoughts of preservation, turned up his defense in the later years. But Floyd is 100s of miles ahead of Butterbean in talent and achievement.

Floyd is superior to Manny in skills.

And Floyd made tons of cash. He could careless about what Manny is doing. In Floyds world, he was the best. And even Manny can't dispute that...….Rockin'

        • Usually, like 9x10, the best of a sport get paid the most.

Why would May be any different ?

          • The same people who praise Rocky for beating Louis are the same people who praise Pac for beating DLH, MAB and Erik.

So the basis for Manny fighting guys tougher than Floyd is Keith Thurman? Please stop

it’s on the basis of him winning 8 world titles in different weights which Floyd has never done and that alone gives pacquaio a bigger legacy and pacquaio is stilll and beating credible and top world champions at there prime.... I am glad we cleared this up

                • Floyd started treating Boxing like his biatch, in the final years of his career. Taking easy opponents, insulting the intelligence of fans, and getting paid ridiculous money to do so. It has not and will not age well over time. Pacquiao was and still is a beast, he will be lauded for the longevitity he has reigned at the top, taking tough fights into the twilight of his career. There is no competition here, Pacquiao is the man and Floyd is the biatch in this instance.

He fought a battered Cotto who was softened up by Margarito and Pac, had to go the distance where Pac closed the show. He ducked Mosley at 135 and waited until he got old. He ducked a rematch with Oscar by "retiring" for a year, got a green Canelo at a catchweight and a battle fatigued Manny with an injured shoulder. Floyd bragged about how he marinated the fight for five years...in other words ducked and waited until he lost a step and had no other alternatives.

MAB and Morales were still prime. But I notice Floyd fans act as though he beat Robinson, Armstrong and Leonard when they boast about his wins over Hernandez, Guerrero and Berto. LMAO.

Floyd will be remembered like Marciano; a guy who never fought an elite level opponent at their best and retired undefeated.
                      I can see that.

Like I said, Pacquiao will always be known as a great warrior in the ring. The David Goliath in there.

Floyd though will probably wind up with a mystic aura of being untouchable. Sort of like how you said with Marciano, who also has a mystic aura of being unbeatable.
