While Hopkins himself stayed in shape year round, he can't expect every fighter to live that way. Training for a fight sucks and most people only want to do it if they know for a fact that a fight is happening. Canelo likes to give guys short notice to prepare, meanwhile, he knows his exact fight date and starts to prepare himself accordingly. The may fight with Saunders was announced very late and even then, Canelo threw a fit by saying he's the only one to announce his fights and he never signed to face Saunders. So right now, Canelo knows his fight date (which is likely Sept) so he's preparing but his opponent is still unknown. Is somebody supposed to be training their ass off for a fight that they aren't even sure is happening? Bottom line is guys aren't always going to go for Canelo's A side tactics and give him an advantage

To be fair to him Saunders is not going to beat Canelo. He needs as much money as he can get.

Time for him to cash-in on his 'career' (there's almost no one top-level on his record)

Disrespecting BHop? Put a chip on the old man's shoulder and watch him come back at 74 yrs old and clean out the whole LHW division. Hopkins is no Lemieux.

billy is right to want to get paid well for this fight, i agree with him on this one, why take short money to fight canelo, makes no sense whatsoever, it should be by far his biggest payday

All you dumbasses defending Saunders are a literal fcking joke of epic hypocrite proportions. Saunders has had many months to get his fat ass in shape, hes supposedly the wbo champ,& he was given over 10 weeks to prepare for September (still 10 weeks away) after having supposedly been training for a Canelo fight for months,& lastly this cowardis cvntface Saunders was only asked to take multiple times what he'll ever earn instead of slightly more multiple times what he would've without covid,(he was due to make at least 6 mil now because of covid for Canelo but these same cvnts who spend every waking moment crying about Canelos cowardis are here defending this cvntface bltch Saunders, truly can't make this sht up)

Ps you clowns know who you are(including welshing phags whose account I rightfully own)you are literal disgraces to the sport of boxing with your pathetic beta male groupie ways

Saunders is my guy, but I agree with you

taking short money, could be a valid excuse... not having time to prepare, is not really a valid excuse... especially considering Saunders profession, and the covid lockdown... everyone else is ready to go

if they never offer Saunders another crack and he misses that opportunity, it would be fair to say that Saunders paid the price for a lack of professionalism

I wanted to see that fight, but I am so sick of Saunders & his apologists who think he deserves the moon & the stars just for doing his damn job. Hes a world champ ffs yet has the most pathetic excuses in boxing history that make plant look like a throwback killer
