Comments Thread For: Arum: Ruiz, Who Can't Punch, KO'd Joshua - Then So Can Pulev!

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who co-promotes heavyweight contender Kubrat Pulev, is firmly confident that his boxer can put WBO, IBF, WBA, IBO champion Anthony Joshua to sleep. Pulev is the IBF's mandatory challenger to Joshua.

Ruiz isn’t exactly short on knockouts, he’s won more than half his fights inside the distance. What’s he talking about? At any rate, regardless of whether Pulev’s a good puncher or not, he’s not a particularly aggressive fighter. That’s the biggest reason nobody’s seriously suggesting Pulev could win by KO.

AJ will never fight the way he used to. He'll box around the ring like he did vs Ruiz 2. That's not a bad thing, even if it's somewhat boring to watch.

Pulev hits harder then people think he’s got very thudding shots ,it’s just his style to wear guys down . Ruiz hit A.J with combinations past mid rounds Pulev won’t get that opportunity because he’s not that explosive combination puncher so the odds of it happening are slim where A.J Is suspected to land a hard one before mid rounds and get the stoppage before any moment by Pulev is going to surface .

How many HWs KO less than half of their opponents?

Andy didn't flatten AJ. The ref decided AJ wasn't fit to go on, even though AJ responded to every instruction. AJ had a bad night. Had nothing to do with Andys punching power.

You're probably right, but I think AJs says are numbered even if he fights more tentatively. Everyone will he looking to drop him now.

A few people including millers ex manager have confirmed Joshua was concussed greatly impacting his punch resistance turns out it wasn’t just a rumour

Honestly when it comes to this fight Joshua needs to just go straight at Pulev and lay him out, Pulev isn't very good inside, doesn't hit that hard, Is old and has a chin that's crackable.

If Joshua does try to fight this one moving around outside then it becomes a chess match and Pulev does have a good, long, accurate jab.

Klitschko couldn't outjab Pulev so he just came in and destroyed him, AJ can do the same and he needs to repair a bit of his rep with a destructive performance here.

Contenders are feeling brave now but if Joshua knocks the **** out of two or three of them, then the Ruiz fight WILL start to be forgotten and he needs that to happen quickly
