Magdaleno then, unless they're ready to sacrifice Conlan.

Makes perfect sense, he already beat the guy who beat the guy standing between him and a world title in a second division

        Magdaleno is ranked #4.

I don't see why he should get to jump the queue over #'s 1, 2, and 3.

Dropping titles, vacating titles, moving up, moving down, to many titles in boxing, trash talking, horrible promoters, bad match ups constantly. I've been the biggest boxing fan since I was 11. I'm 41 now. And started watching ufc. I'm not giving up on boxing but they need to get their **** together. Put on good fights, use replay, eliminate bad judging, get rid of promoters, have one sanctioning body, one title per weight class, stop the politics! I hope boxing never dies but ufc is destroying them!

The WBO will do what Arum says will make them the most money

Just like the WBA do with the Haymon stable, and the WBC do with any name fighter

They all have cop out clauses that let them rank or install mandatories as they wish. The only one that doesn’t is the IBF

                  Not surprised by this move.

Navarrete is going to be a force in the 126 lbs, the man is tall, strong and big already and can make 13o lbs to 135 lbs in the future.

Navarette really shouldn't be able to jump any of the ranked dudes at 126 anyway so there's literally zero justification for making Navarette vs Magdaleno a title fight. According to the WBOs rules it's only Super Champs that get automatic right to mandatory in adjacent divisions... but like all the sanctioning orgs the wording of their rules gives 'em plenty of wriggle room so I expect they'll do it anyway. They've done plenty similar before. $$$s innit?

The WBO regulations for granting Super Champion designation are here, in section 14:

Navarrete seems to meet most of them and the ones he doesn't are listed ambiguously as additional factors that "will be considered."

So their seems to be justification for moving him to the front of the line. They are ostensibly operating within their rulebook.

But I would like to hear their explanation for why Magdaleno gets to skip Michael Conlan, Ruben Villa, and Ryan Walsh.

A lot of bullshˇt has gone on with sanctioning orgs before. But as boxing fans we should be getting smarter and demanding better. The boxing media should also play it's role as public watchdog better too.
