Comments Thread For: Herring: I Made Promises And Always Keep My Word, Champions Don't Make Excuses

All that Jamel Herring was willing to change about his upcoming title defense was the date. The 34-year old southpaw from the Coram section of Long Island, New York is prepared to put his 130-pound crown on the line for the second time when he faces Vega Alta's Puerto Rico's Jonathan Oquendo. The two will collide on July 14 live on ESPN from MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This guy is an IDIOT, 100% guaranteed.

He got Corona virus which attacks all body (lungs, nerves, heart) and he postponed fight for TWELVE days???
AHahaha! The only thing making it even funnier is his excuse - he promised it to Bob Arum! PHAAAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!
To the slug who will drop him over the bridge the moment he will have no more use of him! Pheheheheheeee.
While... wait for it... while he could have guarateed a fight with Shakur Stevenson by just waiting for that - THAT'S EVEN FUNNIER NOW!
      What an idiot.

Yes, a refreshing change but possibly not the smartest move; Azjar's post above makes some very relevant points!

I’ll show you better than I can tell you. I’ve already sparred 3 times since testing negative. Thanks for your concern though.

Champ, what did that virus feel like, as a fighter? Or did you not have symptoms?

And on top of that, everyone is affected differently, in different ways, more or less, and some recover quicker. God bless you Jamel and I hope for the best for you!
