  • Comments Thread For: Kownacki: I Want Helenius Rematch - If Not, Then Ruiz, Ortiz or Even Wilder

Adam Kownacki doesn't dodge any questions about the first loss of his professional boxing career. In fact, he answers them before you even get a chance to ask. And though the 31-year-old could talk about maybe getting a quick hook from referee David Fields in his March 7 headliner against Robert Helenius, overlooking his underdog opponent, being overwhelmed by the media and fan obligations that went along with being the main event in his hometown of Brooklyn, or even being less than focused because he and his wife had just welcomed a son into the world a few months earlier, he doesn't do any of that. In fact, there are no excuses at all.

One of the most fan friendly fighters I can remember but he gets hit entirely too much. Honestly Helenius proved if you can weather the storm and make it a few rounds then turn up the volume he can be beat pretty quick. Maybe he will work on slipping punches while he loses weight.

Fight somebody like Cojanu next, or Dinu, to get some self confidence back.

Oh, Klownacki is still alive?! Nice.
I wonder how many times will he have to be punched in the face to (somehow) compensate lost AJ purse?
        Thanks, Al!

If Ruiz is going to fight Arreola, then Kownacki vs. Ortiz (or Charles Martin) would be excellent!

I would like to see the Ortiz/Kownacki fight but I've already seen him in with Martin and it was a dull performance on both their parts.

I forgot Kownacki already beat Martin! Martin looks a lot better lately! Anyway, Ortiz vs. Kownacki would be better!

Martin did appear more focused his last time out but I think Kownacki beats him again if they ran it back.

Ortiz needs a name like Kownacki and vice versa right plus stylistically it would be a barn burner IMO

Boxing shouldn't be in Kownacki's long term plans. Everyone can see he gets hit way too much. Take another fight or two and go open a sandwich shop or something.

I love watching him fight, so if he hangs around for a few years I'll enjoy watching him fight but it's not going anywhere good for him.
