Whats next for the A-Force? (2tough
)
Audley Harrison's career started off well, however there were may doubters that were concerned as he did not knock out the blown up cruiser weights.
Starting his career with the BBC he did well to get the amount of fights he got, he reportedly made around 6million(I think) from the BBC 10 fight deal. The 10 fight deal with the BBC got him to his first title shot, yes a true world title BUT it wasn’t recognised, it was so he became the Undisputed WBF Heavyweight Champion of the world. Now not many fighters have got that belt have they?
Soon as the contracted ended with the BBC he went to the USA, Audley might say that he left the Great Britain in search of bigger things but many would say that he left because he was losing his fan base and could not get the big fights he wanted. So he left for the U – S of A!!!!!!
After beating Robert Wiggins and Robert Davis by TKO he moved up the rankings and was in search for a European fight. Audley in his time in the USA called out now popular fighters such as Shannon Briggs and Calvin Brock but they turned him down. Audley then came back to Britain to fight Danny Williams. On paper it was an easy fight as Danny had been the heaviest on record and had been battered by Vitali so at this point in the A-Force’s career it was not as dangerous. However Audley had family problems, he had not talked to his mother since his amateur boxing days and only after then fight he started speaking to her. Mentally this could have been the weight that plagued his mind therefore showing in his performance. And also because he was desperate to get a big fight, Audley stated that he only training about 5 weeks for the fight. Obviously there wasn’t enough preparation.
The Guinn fight was more of a confidence thing, Thell his trainer was busier with Hasim Rahman and Audley felt that his training was not 100%. Audley lost the fight YES no doubt but by no means did Guinn dominate the fight.
We all saw what Tony Thompson (southpaw) did to Guinn; maybe Audley can resurrect his dieing career one last time now that he is with world-renowned trainer Buddy McGirt. Audley is at his career lightest at 248 lbs.
What are you views on what Audley should do now? What possible opponents would you pit him against? I know Audley seems to lack teh heart and desire to go on, but im still him fan. what are the options for Audley.
