Comments Thread For: McWilliams Arroyo Confident in Shocking Julio Cesar Martinez

Since December, McWilliams Arroyo knew he was close to another world title shot. His career in the ring took a turn for the better from the moment he agreed to a deal with local promoter Miguel Cotto Promotions. He has already won three times in a row.

Arroyo is quality. He beat Cuadras and held his own against Ioka and Chocolatito. Martinez should win but I wouldn't be shocked to see the upset happen.

I just wish Martinez was a tad bit faster with his feet

Good wish. Harris could turn him when he moved. Martinez is fast and accurate. His feet are not slow, but he doesn't dance. He cuts distance well, strikes effectively, but I think he can be boxed. Jay was a brawler, but had some lateral moves getting away.

The only thing that concerns me in Martinez is his gas tank. He was gassed in the late rounds with Harris. I wouldn’t be surprised either of an upset given that Arroyo is a quality fighter

This is a real good fight imo. Skill vs Will! Martinez will have to air him out to win.

Arroyo is a good fighter but Martinez is another level, possibly 2 above Arroyo. It’s a good fight though. If Arroyo were to upset it’d be a great upset.

Arroyo really could have found a better opponent. It's just that nobody is going to stop Martinez from winning at this particular time. He is a whirlwind of confidence. He is conditioned as well as anyone. Got to give Harris credit for pushing Martinez. I don't see anyone else going the distance with Martinez any time soon. Like Arroyo, he just is jumping in front of a freight train right now.
