Comments Thread For: Helenius Willing To Face Luis Ortiz or Andy Ruiz in Final Eliminator

I have some reservations that Helenius can go all the way to the top... but I do think he's in the best place mentally he's been in a long time. Having said that, IMO he could conceivably beat Ortiz, Pulev, Ruiz... just so he stays focused throughout.Comment

I'm not hating on Helenius I know he has had ****ty management in the past along with taking fights on short notice because of his financial situation. He also had a lot of injuries which led to a big stall in his career the only reason I said that is for comparison because that guy was talking about Luis Ortiz and comparing performances.
But whether he was sick or not he was doing well in that fight and just got caught when he gassed at least that's the way I saw it.
I always thought Chisora beat him decisively but either way Helenius is a good addition to the current crop of heavyweights tall and has good boxing ability. The only thing I can say is that when he get's hit he sometimes freezes while dropping his hands especially against the ropes and he can't do that against the heavy hitters like Wilder and Joshua.Comment

Agreed. RH has been unlucky with injuries and promoters and trainers.. but he´s also been kinda naive with his choices. I´m glad he got one more chance to prove himself, the man can box and has power in both hands. 36 is still prime-ish for HW and he got through Kownacki without injuries. And the Chisora fight.. it was a robbery, but not as wide as most seem to believe. - I hope Helenius gets Ortiz next, it´s a good 50/50 fight. Ruiz however is all wrong for RH, just a stylistical nightmare.I'm not hating on Helenius I know he has had ****ty management in the past along with taking fights on short notice because of his financial situation. If he comes out the way he did against Kownacki , we may be on to some real live dog
Hopefully he’s all done with injuries etc etc
Hes got quite a bit of experience and that speaks volumes
Kownacki can crack , and get cracked lol , but Helenius took some big shots and then prounced on him
Like veteran stealing a candy store or candy crushing awayComment

You see Ruiz giving Helenius problems ?
Which in hindsight I would agree but the blueprint is out how to beat him
Big H is got the experience , size and reach
Do the funky AJ
Keep him on the outside , Ruiz is always looking to exchange , with the faster hands and all
I like Ruiz and hopefully joining the Canelo training Center lol , he actually has improvedComment

Helenius took Whyte 12 rounds....... Helenius is capable of staying outside for 12 rounds and nullifying a come-forward fighter like Ruiz (on his day).
Good fight and I'd like to see Helenius try to stay out of danger and maybe land some bombs himself. If Ruiz catches him and unloads he is done though.Comment

Yep. Helenius had some mental issues too besides the injuries, but like I said he's in a good place now. We'll see. Should be some interesting fights ahead for him.If he comes out the way he did against Kownacki , we may be on to some real live dog

Ortiz would be silly to not take this. An eliminator and a looming title shot so soon, he is not getting any younger, plus covid setback. Also he needs to fight tall orthodox fighters as those are the champs today. Helenius is a very good fighter when focused, with good jab and punching power. Great matchup and fight, makes a good test and eliminator. Helenius, breazeale, price, washington, ustinov, dimitrenko. These are the guys ortiz should fight. Martin, arreola, ruiz, kownacki, spong, takam, rivas etc .... short guys or southpaws are useless right now.Comment
