All joking aside you might be right....Making 160 at his age has to be affecting him.

Balance to strike I guess, worth noting that at 30 years old, which is typically when guys start to struggle with the cut he weighed unofficially at 167 against Proksa, not far above his ammy weight... There's Welters come in virtually that heavy. Kinda suggests he probably could have started at 154 quite comfortably. That said after his HBO debut he did bulk up within a coupla fights to be coming in as decent sized MW 170-3 and has been steady there for 6 years or so could be he would benefit from a move although it'd mean he'd be giving up a lot of weight to the younger bigger dudes at 168 like Mundo or Benavidez who are essentially LHWs in waiting.

IDK guess its his body and he knows it best, he thinks 160 is better for him ain't gonna second guess. What weight he's at is of less interest to me than the quality of opponents he's facing... I'd far rather a recognised name at 168 than a Szeremeta at 160 but I'd rather an Andrade or possibly Charlo at 160 than a no-name at 168.

Geale weighed 182lbs in street clothes just right before the Cotto fight. How much did he weigh in the ring against Cotto? Would we say 178?

Now this is Geale at the full 160 with GGG. Both of these guys were significantly bigger on fight night. Wouldn’t you say Geale and GGG would be about the same? The networks and promoters are all shady. They don’t really give the truth about weights. That’s the point of the disclaimer “unofficial scale.”

OK, so what you're saying is that I should discount the figures from unofficial weigh ins cos they could be part of a devious plot to make the world think some fighters are better than they really are and instead rely on the judgement, eye test and indubitable impartiality of Canelo's one man promo team for insight into Golovkins actual fight night weights? Have I got that about right?

His power already looks pedestrian against top guys at 160. He knows at 168 he can’t hurt even average guys and that’s not a good recipe for him. He’ll kill himself to make 160 for a few more fights then call it a day.

Stopped reading here. Calm yo bid boy, don’t get soft. The disclaimer for something being unofficial means it’s not 100% accurate. What “devious plot?” The disclaimer is a formality and has always been a loophole. If fighters have the right for non disclosure would you consider it an insecurity from the team? Does the fan have the right to know? What if post scale information didn’t even exist! Think about That. There’d be no numbers/weights to even instigate. I gave you info about Geale vs Cotto. What does Canelo have to do with it? Some of you GGG fans have too much insecurity to discuss optimization for Gennadiy. Rather sad

When industry and Abel reported his sparring sessions with Cruiserweights was Gennadiy around 160 in camps? Hell No!
