Comments Thread For: Fury vs. Joshua Would Be Big in America, Says Top Rank Exec

Brad Jacobs, COO for Top Rank, believes a heavyweight unification between champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua would be a very big deal in the United States. The fight would easily sell out any stadium in the UK, but the contest would generate more money in a United States location like Las Vegas.

As an Englishman, the USA is the worst possible place to stage it. Who wants to stay up until 4 AM? This is typical American we rule the World & want it all selfishness!!

I'm sure The Superior One can't wait to fight on ESPN who's been downgrading and ignoring him for the past few years.

I want this fight to take place in the UK, how often do we have the two best in the glamour division duke it out for every prize? Financial realities will prevent it and Fury's US backers don't care about UK boxing fans, why should they?

Saudi will be the largest bid. A lot depends on what US broadcasters think the fight is worth. They can put more money up than that generated by a UK stadium and PPV. So if they want it they'll likely get at least one of the fights.

Gate for Fury Wilder 2 was impressive, but what level of interest is there for two UK heavyweights? Could they fill that new arena in Vegas without an American fighter topping the bill?

The brits taking over in America. That would probably some of them die a little bit inside.

It'd be big pretty much anywhere. The real question is who's prepared to pay the most for it?

Of course Top Rank want the fight in the US, they'd consider it a strong psychological advantage.

I don't care where the fight happens, all I want to see is the fight and one champion

Vegas doesn't make a lot of sense for two Brits that's a lot of ppv you're throwing away hard to believe the site fee would cover even a fraction of that. NYC for instance would seem a lot better if they go the US route.

As a Brit, I think the fight should be at Wembley. Joshua has been pulling in big PPV numbers for a few years now. Two English fighters should fight in England. It’s for Undisputed so it doesn’t need any validation as a big fight, the title says enough.
No way casuals stay up for a 5am fight. Up the ticket and PPV price and that deficit will be reduced.
