Hearn is been petty, but business is business and the fact that Matchroom has it in the contract that they could reschedule the fight due to unforeseen circumstances covers them. The lies that she put out made it difficult for her now, she said she couldn’t train in New York and now her manager wants to talk about dieticians and sparring partners coming to work with her etc 😂 .... Even when the lockdown is in place in March when she received the money.

I disagree that he is being petty. He gave her money on the premise that she would fight the fight she signed up for, which Serrano no longer wants to do. Which is her privilege to back out of the fight. However now she needs to return the money that she was given.

This could also be bad for other fighter's in the future. Hearn and other promoter's could look at this as a valid reason not to provide fighter's with training expenses prior to a fight.

It’s definitely his rights to ask for the money back (Legally), I just think 10k is nothing to him but business is business. And you are right why is she turning down the fight now? They have a date for you, covid is getting contained. But you wouldn’t get in the ring for 400k! And why isn’t her own promoter footing the 10k training expenses? Like you pointed out promoters wouldn’t do that in future, they would let your own team foot your own expenses until you turn up for a fight and get paid what you signed for.

The fight wasn't cancelled. It was postponed. Not twice, once.

As soon as a date was confirmed, Serrano and her team were informed.

Letting it go to court would be the worst possible think Serrano could do in my opinion. Yeah, it might cost Matchroom money on lawyers, but it will also cost Serrano money on lawyers. There is a risk that she could end up paying Matchroom's legal fees on top of the $10k that she owes them.

I honestly can't see the issue with returning the money. She accepted the money on the provision that she actually go through with the fight. Now she is just trying to rip off the promoter.

So that’s contrary to you said that she was informed. When will Eddie be held accountable for fights not being made. I can think of three different fighters that Hearn has Feuded with on the gram. Absolutely it does yes. It wasn’t matchroom a fault the fight didn’t happen either and it’s common practice for fights to be rescheduled - for sure this will have been within the contract. Unless the contract suggested any delays would result in a further payment , which is very uncommon and unlikely to have even been proposed by her camp at the time.

I know brits always assume they’re the smartest in the room but The fight was originally scheduled for Madison Square Garden now it’s Scheduled for Matchroom Square Garden last time I checked that’s a different continent.

No, it wasn't. When the fight was signed, it was for Manchester Arena on the Whyte - Povetkin Undercard.

Madison Square Garden was mentioned as a possible venue, but it was never actually the venue.
