The only way she should have to pay it back is if the fight doesnt happen because of her. If it's due to anything beyond her control then no. She shouldn't have to.
She refused the venue and the renegotiation. The Coronavirus rules here in the UK are beyond complex so the fight wouldn't be legally possible to stage on the 4th.
Personally I think it ends in a win for Coronavirus, nobody to blame (although Serano should have kept herself in good shape ready to go at short notice, she knew that nothing can be definitely confirmed right now until very close to the date).
Lol WHAT? She was paid in March for a fight in May. You think he told her to not spend all of that money or even a large portion of it since the fight could be postponed two times so she will need that money for potentially three training camps? Is that what you're saying?
If you want to argue she should still fight Taylor regardless of how many times the fight is postponed, then that's fine. I won't argue that point, your opinion. Cool, but the question at hand was if wanting the $10k he paid in March was fair or foul considering it was no fault of Serrano that she trained twice for a fight that got postponed.
who cancelled the fight the first two times? That money is long gone. If I’m Serrano I’d let Hearn take me to court. His lawyers will cost more than the $10K
The fight wasn't cancelled. It was postponed. Not twice, once.
As soon as a date was confirmed, Serrano and her team were informed.
Letting it go to court would be the worst possible think Serrano could do in my opinion. Yeah, it might cost Matchroom money on lawyers, but it will also cost Serrano money on lawyers. There is a risk that she could end up paying Matchroom's legal fees on top of the $10k that she owes them.
I honestly can't see the issue with returning the money. She accepted the money on the provision that she actually go through with the fight. Now she is just trying to rip off the promoter.
