American heavyweight contender Michael Hunter and Matchroom Boxing are parting ways after the promotional outfit opted not to renew its contract with the fighter. Solid fighter, but was a bit disappointed with his performance against Povetkin. He should have been able to beat a 40+ year old Povetkin who is off the juice.

Hunter can compete with the bottom of the top 10 HWs, but the top guys are on another level.

TR seems like a solid fit considering the HWs they have signed in the past year or so.

Hunter ran away from Hrgovic over there ,he’s not going to get easy fights there he should know this if this was the problem . They gave him a top guy Povetkin and he lost that fight imop so there’s that . They cannot embrace him if he cannot produce big wins what does he want ?

Money getting tight and they definitely aren't cutting any british fighters.
Hunter is essentially unknown in America so he was easy pickings for them to let go. He's in a division where top guys are notches above everyone else and larger than the everyone else marketing wise.
Deadzone is causing so many issues. Sad. Predictable but sad.

That just proves that they are having money issues why would they not renew a fighter who never lost while under their promotion especially when the division is the best it's been in a while. Hopefully Hunter gets with PBC there is a lot of fighters he can fight I honestly enjoy watching him that Povetkin fight was close but other than that he looked good against everyone they put him up against.

Hunter was with PBC before. Doesn't sound like he was happy there.
