Canelo's "Prime" is also subjective. Some would argue even the Cotto fight was him "reaching" it. How long he stays there is the question but he's BEEN in his prime. If anything we're closer to seeing a slope than an ascension being he's been Professionally fighting since 15. His wear and tear is already beginning to show and he's not even 30 yet.

THE ONLY WAY GGG could handle a PRIME CANELO would to have seen Gennadiy transition at a higher weight in his previous years, to at least see how he would fair against Super Middleweights. Wanting Chavez Jr or Froch at 168 doesn’t cut it...

          Canelo is now not prime.

I'd say most of his absolute prime was wasted at 155. By the time Canelo fought Floyd at 23, he had 42 fights, eight-year pro experience, with names like these on his resume: Shane Mosley, Josesito Lopez, Austin Trout, Kermit Cintron, etc. I'd say this is Canelo's prime or close to it. It's not always about the age. Canelo started pro boxing at 15.

All these weight jumping and fighting strategic fights don't impress me. Canelo's prime was at superwelter. The rest is bonus. Hopefully, he'll stay at middle and dominate that weak division.

Pac started at 15 too. How old is he now compared to Canelo? Canelo will turn 30 this year. Is Crawford or Loma prime? They older than Canelo. We just getting started. Canelo’s current power is dangerous! It’s no wonder he’s being highly avoided. He posts more gym workouts than any other boxer, so his potential adversaries take notice. Canelo is a gym rat

Nope! If you actually went to the gym he’s hitting the heavy bag stronger than ever and looking sharp in the game. He’ll turn 30 this year. Loma and Bud are older. Canelo always posting gym work, more than anyone. He’s now at the stage like a post PBF where upper echelon defensive and compubox efficiency will Canelo’s new method. He’s always looking great each fight.

I don't think we're going to see Canelo fight into his 40s. He also started making money A LOT younger than Pacquiao really began to let alone Manny hasn't always been the smartest guy with his money which is HUGELY why he's still fighting. That's not to say Canelo's retiring next year or even "soon" but I don't think he's going on a 8-10 year run. I'm still also not sold on DAZN. In the US he needs to be tied with one of the Major Networks. HBO & Showtime were HUGE for him but also because they were Entertainment platforms. But as long as DAZN is cutting those checks and they clear, salute to him. I can't be mad.

Talking about Prime doesn’t mean another fighter needs to meet another fighters’ amount of fights. We’re purely talking about prime. Pac is brought up not for his current age, since we know Pac isn’t Prime, but when PAC was 29-30 like Canelo who was he fighting? Who did he beat? Plus, Pac went through more wars than Canelo. Fights that Canelo wouldn’t even do. Pac has Bradley x3, Marquez x4, Barrera x2, Morales x3. That’s 12 fights...in the formula of Wrestlemania series just to make money off fans... it’s like “we’ll did he really beat him?! Deep!!

I want Beterbiev NOW! I want Bivol NOW! These are the fights that should Canelo win, he is automatically ATG. Canelo’s style alone will be remembered in the history books. True Grit firepower.
