Dude, ALL FIGHTERS RESET. I think Beterbiev shook the shet out of Gvozdyk to be honest.

Imagine PBC fans or Thurman having said, Keith doesn’t need Pac or Spence because he unified and beat Porter and Garcia... “so his long layoff is fine and he can do whatever he please to do.” Instead Thurman had a swarm of haters from all angles YET STILL FOUGHT with injuries and a long layoff... but Gvozdyk gets empathy?

Sorry but this guy got no heart. By the time he’d get a shot at a title somebody gotta see him or he would fight Beterbiev again with the money available. Beterbiev will have turned 2 years or less older, so why Gvozdyk is betchin about current circumstances is just soft ass shet.

Calling a guy who fought 2 of the biggest punchers in his division (stevenson, beterbiev) a puss-e/no heart is pretty fuggin dumb IMO.

He clearly has lost his passion/drive for the sport and on top of that hes 33 not exactly a spring chicken in this sport.

      I was not expecting this.

Someone said already, but I predict where the time come to have full capacity crowd and a decent contract, Gvozdyk is the first line saying yes. Let's see what happen. If this is true, then I respect Gvozdyk for accomplishing a good career and I thank you him for fighting the best. He deserve the rest and retirement with all his health intact.

Nah. If Badou Jack could go 12 with Stevenson it meant Stevenson’s days had hit a huge decline.

Real pimpin is Bhop fighting Kovalev. That’s gangsta

You mean after Canelo waits for Beterbiev to become 36 and start slipping?

If and I do not know what his motives are for sure but If Gvysd is done with boxing good for him. I can see him looking at the landscape of boxing and saying "No Thanks" He gave no excuses just gave a fair interview for those who followed his fights. He did not kick anyone did not insult the fight game. Just gave a more detailed statement on his exit. We are in a time when a lot of fighters talk so much you do not know what to believe. And if by chance he is playing games he will pay in the ring. I would rather hear "No Thanks" to boxing then I want more money, I am not going to fight until I get my fair shake, I deserve more more blah blah blah.

Excellent interview, excellent fighter, and such refreshing honesty. We never get this level of "no excuses" today (or ever?), so the sport is worse off without gentlemen like Gvozdyk.

                Beterbiev ain’t no fughin Kovalev
Oh , hang on , that is unless they’re gonna wait it out until he’s 40
If Canelo had any chance against Beterbiev , he would of never dropped the belt he won and would of gone up against him
The minute Beterbiev has an off night mark my words , Canelo will want to fight him
They’ll jump on that like flies on chit

I am glad Dan Rafael is writing for Boxing Scene. He is the best boxing writer around. He knows his craft well and doesn't have hidden agenda like the all to many hacks who write about boxing.

                      I doubt he coming back
First off it would be useless to come back and fight Beterbiev
He would lose in worse fashion than the first one
Secondly , I know he didn’t mention it but he’s not well physically
It had come out a little while ago , if I’m not mistaken it was right after the Stevenson fight
He sounds like a man who’s in charge of his life and very realistic to his surroundings
